Robots in Japan

Friday, January 27, 2006

Robot workers are to be made available by a Nagoya based Japanese company ironically named "PeopleStaff".

The "Hello Kitty Robo" is a cute (?!?) kitten shaped robot that is designed to do the work of a temporary receptionist. Hello Kitty Robo is capable of sensing the approach of visitors, greeting them and holding a basic conversation.

PeopleStaff is also making available the "Ifbot". This model is aimed at hospitals and homes for the elderly. It can quiz people about their health and engage them in stimulating activities.
