Research published in the journal of the Royal Society reveals the discovery of the smallest known type of fish.
The new discovery - a genus dubbed Paedocypris - has been found on the Indonesian island of Sumatra. When fully mature it can be as small as 7.9mm in length.
This small size is believed to be a survival attribute for Paedocypris. It allows them to live on very little food and to survive in the tiniest remaining patches of water during a drought.
This newly discovered creature is already under threat from - of course - man. Peat swamp drainage and other human activity is destroying their habitat.
