The BBC reports on solid evidence that at least one misplaced big cat ("ABC") is alive and well in the Fife area of Scotland.
There have been numerous sightings of a big cat in the Fife area over recent years. Many skeptics have put these sightings down to imagination and mistaken observation.
Now police have solid evidence: the cast of a paw print. It was found by Fife Police's wildlife crime officer, Mark Maylin. Following several ABC reports of the "Beast of Balbirnie" on the Balbirnie Estate near Glenrothes, Maylin found a paw print. He took a cast which has now been identified by experts as being from an 18-month-old exotic large cat.
Maylin believes the beast to be a black leopard.
