If you were a ghost, where would you choose to spend eternity? An English pub? Perhaps. But in the ladies' toilets?!?
That's what appears to have happened at the Low Valley Arms pub near Barnsley in South Yorkshire. Police were called in to investigate by the landlord, Roger Froggat, after he came face to face with the ghost.
Well, face to half face. Apparently the ghost was a woman dressed in white with half of her face missing.
Police were called to the scene. Although they didn't see the ghost, they did see one of the toilets constantly flushing itself and officers were reportedly left shaken by the experience.
Local ghost hunter Darren Johnson-Smith has investigated the haunted loo and believes that the ghost might be one Mary Quantrill. Quantrill was a 19th century traveller who was murdered near the site.
