Carnivorous "Ghost Slug" Discovered in Wales

The BBC reports that a new and highly unusual species of slug has been found in gardens in Wales.

The new creature is a ghostly white in colour, nocturnal and exists by killing and eating earthworms. Beause of its appearance it's been named Selenochlamys ysbryda - "ghost slug".

The new species is from the Trigonochlamydidae group and scientists speculate that it may have evolved in underground caves. How it arrived in the UK is unknown.
