The idea of buying jewelry and gemstones for a partner to celebrate a wedding anniversary is relatively new. Some people still prefer to stick with the traditional gifts, others like to combine the traditional with the modern.

Because the association between gemstones and wedding anniversaries is so recent there is no "standard" list. The list of sones here is that used by the American Gem Society.
